COOKIES POLICY
TrustCloud Inc. and its subsidiaries (hereinafter, “TrustCloud”), through its domain trustcloud.tech, use cookies and similar technologies (hereinafter, “Cookies”). This policy explains which Cookies this website uses, why, for how long, and how you can accept, reject or change them.
What are Cookies?
Cookies are small files that a website stores on the device from which you visit it, and that it can read again on later visits. Similar technologies, such as the browser’s local storage, work in the same way and are covered by this policy too.
Cookies do not damage your device or slow it down. Some are necessary for a website to work; others are only used if you allow them.
Which Cookies do we use and why?
We keep Cookies to a minimum. We never use Cookies for advertising or to build a profile of you. The Cookies on this website fall into three categories:
- Necessary: they make the website work and remember the choice you make in our cookie banner. They do not identify or track you, and they cannot be switched off.
- Analytics: Google Analytics helps us understand, in aggregated form, how the website is used, such as the number of visits and the pages most read, so we can improve it. Only used if you allow it.
- Maps and videos: Google Maps on our Offices page, and YouTube and Vimeo videos in some blog posts. These services set their own Cookies as soon as they load, so they stay blocked, and are replaced by a notice, until you allow them.
| COOKIES | TYPE OF COOKIES | PURPOSE | TIME PERIOD |
|---|---|---|---|
| tc_consent | Necessary (TrustCloud) | Stores the choice you made in the cookie banner, so we do not ask again on every page. | 180 days |
| tc-onepager-key (local storage) | Necessary (TrustCloud) | Only on our password-protected one-pagers: keeps the access you entered, so you do not have to type the password again. | 10 days |
| onepager-pdfs (cache storage) | Necessary (TrustCloud) | Only on our password-protected one-pagers: holds the document you open, in your browser only, so it can open under its own file name. It never reaches our servers. | 1 day |
| _ga | Analytics (Google Analytics) | Distinguishes visits by assigning a randomly generated identifier, used to produce aggregated statistics. | 2 years |
| _ga_<ID> | Analytics (Google Analytics) | Keeps the state of the current visit for the same aggregated statistics. | 2 years |
| Google Maps | Maps and videos (Google) | Set by Google when a map on our Offices page loads. | As set by Google |
| YouTube | Maps and videos (Google) | Set by YouTube when a video in a blog post loads. | As set by YouTube |
| Vimeo | Maps and videos (Vimeo) | Set by Vimeo when a video in a blog post loads. | As set by Vimeo |
The Cookies set by Google, YouTube and Vimeo are managed by those companies, which decide their names and duration. You can read about them in Google’s cookie policy and Vimeo’s cookie policy. These providers may process data outside the European Economic Area, under the safeguards set out in their own policies.
Legal basis and your consent
Necessary Cookies are used because they are strictly required to provide the website you are visiting. All other Cookies are only used with your prior consent, which you give in the cookie banner shown on your first visit, where you can accept all Cookies, reject all of them, or choose by category.
We keep your choice for 180 days, after which we ask you again. You can change it or withdraw your consent at any time from the cookie button in the bottom-left corner of every page. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of the use made before it.
How can Cookies be erased or disabled?
You can also manage and delete Cookies through the settings of your web browser. Please note that if you block all Cookies, some parts of the website, such as the password-protected one-pagers, will not work. The following links explain how to do it in the most common browsers:
